Hello, they call me I am

I think it's about time that I gave an explanation. Not about anything of any consequence, but I think that people have a misconception or misunderstanding of my unnatural, yet completely heterosexual, infatuation with Angelina Jolie. In light of the recent birth of her first biological child, I figured now was a good a time as any.
First I would like to recall some of the many comments made toward me in regards to Angelina:

"Oh, and I meant to tell you -the only Shiloh's I've ever met are...dogs. As in canines :)"- Angella
"And yeah drop the Angelina thing , she ain't that great..." - auntie Jill

"I think it's time to get a new hero." - Danielle

Just so everyone understands....I don't like the husband-stealing, bi-experimenting, side of Angelina. And I'm a little weirded out by the fact that her newborn's name loosely translates to "New Messiah". I don't know what that's all about.
unfortunately, because of her celebrity, the bad things about her are always the focus.
But, can we, as non-judgmental people, put aside the bad and focus on the good? Isn't that what we are supposed to do? Love the person, hate the sin?

All of the bad aside then, I would go as far to say that she is my epitome of what a women should be. She's smart, caring, sexy, compassionate, loving, concerned, independent, helpful, natural, and can kick some serious ass in her movies. Not to mention all the work she's done for the UN, shedding light on different problems in our world, and helping people who are less fortunate, among other things.
Until she does something really horrible, I will continue to be inspired by her good actions and intentions, and would appreciate it if you kept your not-so-nice comments too yourself.

Last one standing gets a prize
I haven't posted for a while cause whenever I've been on blogger, I've been working on my new original template. It's proving to be a pain in my hind parts, and has taken away my want to post.

Angelina Jolie had her baby last night! How excited am I?!?!? It was a baby girl named Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt.

We had a highschool choir from Chilliwack come lead worship in church today. They were pretty good. They did this hip hop dance, lol, one of the guys was really white. Even our pastor made a comment about white guys dancing.

I hate being single. Like really hate it. I was NOT meant to be single. I was meant to marry young and have LOTS of babies! But I'm not going to get a boyfriend just for the sake of having one. People who do that have serious self-confidence issues, and I really don't. Oh well, the 'newly single scene' is gaining momentum. Yet another couple who's been together for quite a while had a 'didn't see that coming' breakup. I was speechless for 10 minutes when she told me. That doesn't happen!

I went to a concert on Friday, The Contact. Really cool group of guys. The bass player is from India, and they did this Indian-sounding jam session. I almost exploded with excitement. Emily was laughing so hard at me! Needless to say, I've been listening to my Indian music non-stop for the last two days.

I know I've said this before, many times, but I'm pretty sure what I'm going to be doing for school next year. But I think I'm going to wait until I've applied to blog about it. And I'm hoping to do that by the end of next week.

I should have some new pictures on flickr by the end of the day so check it out.

Brilliant!
Well I had pretty much the best weekend EVER! It was quite relaxing, besides the fact that I got to chase and be chased by two little boys. I would love to be able to spend a day in Graham's head. I have never seen a kid with a more vivid imagination! I need to start writing down all the crazy things that kid says. I could write a book. I have too many stories to post on here, so ask me about my trip sometime. I will put my 2 favourite moments on here tho.
Graham was really really really excited to see me. All weekend he kept saying "Auntie Dayna, you're here!" The first morning I was there, I was playing with the boys and had to go get something from my room. As I was just about to head down the stairs I heard Graham:
"Auntie Dayna?"
"Yes Graham?"
"You know I love you?"
"I love you too Graham!"
Talk about a 'melt your heart' moment.

On Friday I looked after the boys overnight. We (I) decided to go into Summerland and go to the park. While we were playing, Nathan decided he was going to dirty up his diaper for Auntie Dayna. While I was changing him, I realized that I couldn't hear Graham talking (which, if you know him, is a cause for concern, cause it doesn't happen often). Anyway, I turn around, and there's Graham...pants down, bare bum to the world, relieving himself for all to see. Thanks man.

We got our new kitten this weekend! He's so ugly he's cute. Seriously, this cat got smacked with the ugly stick....but it works for him. And I stress that his ugly features are the best thing about him. His ears and eyes are huge, it's cute! And he's so little! I'M IN LOVE!

A much needed break!
I leave for Summerland tomorrow! A WOO HOO! I'm SO excited to see Ange and her boys!

I usually don't enjoy going there though. No offense, it just makes me really claustrophobic. It's really dry, does funky stuff to my skin, and I feel like I'm stuck in a box of scorching still air.
I'm a coastal girl at heart, and need to smell the fresh ocean air. And no, the huge lake doesn't cut it.
But the last time I returned from a trip to Summerland, I felt like I left a piece of me behind. It's really got me thinking about what I want to do and where I want to be. And the more I think about it, the more I expect to get some answers/direction from this trip.
Who really knows, right?

Anyway, I've set a photo goal for myself. I want to take at least 150 pictures. I always come home with nothing to show for it. I think I may need a bigger memory card :)

Not so on the ball.
Why is it that I get hooked on TV shows when the season is just about to end?

Last week, I was flipping through the channels, when I noticed that Grey's Anatomy was on. Normally I wouldn't have taken a second look at a show like that. Give me hockey and a good Sci-Fi show, like Stargate or LOST, and I'm happy. None of this OR, soap opera-y, crap.
But, each time my fingers went to change the channel, they didn't follow through. I found myself sucked in! The episode last week was basically a recap of the season, which is good cause I got an idea of what had happened, but those episodes usually suck!

I didn't get completely obsessed, like I usually do when I find a new thing to love. So when I heard that there was going to be this big finale, I didn't really give it much thought.

Last night, after watching Dr.Hark save kids from premature death thanks to their parents, and well, just laughing at Rabbi Shmuley's name, I stumbled upon the last half of the Grey's Anatomy season finale.

I cried. Like a little girl.
I really was clueless to what was going on. But I got the jist of it. Pretty blonde chick pulled some cord and everyone else was covering for her. There was a party. And people who shouldn't have had sex, did. Then someone died. Pretty well-rounded hour if you ask me, got a little bit of everything in there.
I'm going to have to rent the season when it comes out on dvd.

On the Phone with Danielle
"Hey Dayna! When you get back from summerland, you have to bring back a guy!"

"Oh ya, I think that it takes a little longer than a couple of days to bring a guy home."

"Well, at least come back with a good story about a guy."

"Is 'hey, while I was in summerland, I saw a hot guy' a good enough story?"

"Not exactly what I had in mind, but I think that'll do."

"Good, cause that's all you'll probably get!"
Oh the Joys...
I'm burnt, and it hurts when I scratch :(
Lance spent 2 hours lying in the sun and had nothing to show for it.
If I'm outside for 10 minutes I start to burn!

We got a badminton/volleyball set on Saturday! We ended up having to take it back the next day cause the rackets fell apart...all four of them.
*Cheap marketers trying to make a couple extra dollars on poor trusting consumers!*
Anyway, hopefully they'll find a good one on Friday in the city.

Grandmas Fallon and Stirling, and Aunty Nancy came up for Mother's day! We made them brunch and I made my infamous Havarti Chicken for dinner. Tres bon!

I painted my toe nails an actual colour! And not just a 'barely there' colour. It's a dramatic purple! Usually I just stick with clear or nude. But I decided to go outside the box.

I locked myself out of my office today. I guess today is one of those 'all body, no brains' days. Except in my case, I don't really have the body either!
Luckily I don't live too far away from the office, so I was able to walk home and get my forgotten keys.

T minus 3 days til Summerland! How excited am I?!?!

Office Ramblings...
Erin: "So we decided that we weren't working out today right?"
Dayna: "Yes, well I decided."
Erin: "Well, I'm agreeing."
Dayna: "Ya, I'm NOT making out today...wait"
*fits of laughter*
Erin: "I bet danielle will be happy to hear that."

Later On....
Erin's 'desk dancing' (similar to 'car dancing') and I'm watching her out of the corner of my eye. The song gets to a rather rockin' part when....WHACK! Erin hits her hand on the desk, says "oh!", and looks around the room to see if anyone saw that. I did.
*fits of laughter*

gross
Hairy, old, creepy men should not be allowed to take their shirts off in public.
Apparently, it's enough to make me puke.

let the house sitting season commence!
You know summer is fast approaching when you get a call to look after someone's house.
I started house sitting two summers ago. A co-worker of my dad's wanted me to look after his beachfront house while he and his wife worked. I started at the end of june and only saw them twice before I finished at the end of august. Since I was in Davis Bay, they also let me use their car...Sweet deal, I thought.
Last summer I was really hoping that I would get that same sweet deal. I did, but at a few houses. I spent 3 weeks at this freakin mansion with a very nice pathfinder as my means of transportation. As I was nearing the end of that stint, I was getting concerned about not having another house to go to. Two days before I was done, I got a call from another family who was going for a week long vacation. SWEET! Half way through that job, I got a call from my sister. She was going to Prince George for a week. Well, a week turned into 2 weeks, then 3 weeks, and then a month. Before I knew it, another summer on my own had gone by.
So, when I got a call to house sit this weekend I was estactic. Here's hoping for another unpromoted house sitting summer!
